After thoughts...

Looking through pictures of my summer, there are some things I failed to mention or note.

::

The first is of the large oak tree outside my window. In an earlier post there is a picture of it through my window...but I enjoyed sitting under it and reading when the sun finally peaked through the clouds. I wonder...how many scholars sat under this tree? And, even more, I wonder...what thoughts emerged from beneath its leaves?

The second is a ghost tour of Oxford led by Father Augustine. He received an MA in Theology at St. Benet's Hall, took orders and now lives in a monastery in St. Louis and teaches at the parish school. Augustine and Lincoln's IT guy, Mike, co-authored a book about the supposed ghost stories in Oxford. Augustine led us through the historical streets while relaying gruesome information of deaths and hauntings.

The last thing I will mention is legendary on the streets of Oxford and I can't believe I didn't write about it sooner. The Kebab Vans. Mmmmmm, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Around 8-9ish the Kebab Vans come out and park. You can order gyros, hamburgers, onion rings, kebabs...and my favorite, french fries topped with hummus. It is the PERFECT end to a night spent at the pubs.

Is that the famous Hassan's roach coach? Kevin and I spent many a night chillin' with hassan and his chips. Ahh...good times. --Erin
