Please excuse the lack of photographs...my computer is still under the weather and I am using one from school to finalize beginning of the year Power Points (and blog). Lack of improvement is limited to the machine, I have been recovering well and am finally back in my apartment on Paseo de la Concha. The stitches are still in and my right is healing much slower than my left...but, all in all I'm doing fine.
Change has been the name of the game around here...Katie, my roommate of 4 1/2 years is getting married on 15 September and just moved out. So, I have the entire place (and rent) to myself. It is funny to think of what we get used to. She owned the microwave, Brita water filter, kitchen table, chairs and living room lights. All of which are pretty essential. Luckily, I have the living room furniture; oh yes, and *ahem* she also took the TV, VCR and DVD.
Let me restate: The entertainment wardrobe (unit) is still here, but the entertainment is GONE.
Quiet...stillness...turning of fan blades...
...this is what occupies my ears.
So far I've weeded through a shoe box of old photographs, cleaned out a section of my art/sewing closet, purchased items for the classroom, went dumpster diving (salvaged it from my apartment's recycle area) and retrieved a perfectly good halogen light for the living room, reorganized the kitchen cabinets, oh, and watched a few episodes of Arrested Development on TV Links (the greatest website where you can watch movies and tv episodes for free!).
I feel like this month will be one of accomplishment. Either that or one of great many purchases.
