Life takes hold...

It's been a unique past few weeks.
Not extremely busy, not dull, overwhelming, or bad...just unique.
  • First, my grandma Bernice is in the hospital due to a rapid heartbeat. She fainted and when met with the doctor was immediately admitted to the ICU for monitoring. She's doing well, her spirits are high, color good, but if the medicine can't control the beats, she might need a pacemaker. When I spoke with her on the phone we laughed and questioned if two people with pacemakers could sleep in the same bed (Grandpa has one). We decided that we could always Lucy and Desi them by putting two twin beds in the room.
  • I've moved into the Wendorff's. A family of six, I've mentioned them before, have graciously welcomed me into their home for three months. Newlyweds, Becka and Joe, are subleasing my apartment. This way I save some rent...but am able to live by myself come January.
  • School is in full swing and again I am teaching six periods. I have three Accelerated (Honors) classes, two general 8th grade and, of course, the English Language Development program for one period. We are working on descriptive expository pieces, which I love.
  • My laptop required a $500 motherboard...which I thought was a mother load of money, so I opted to purchase a new laptop altogether. Thus my disconnection with the blog and email. Researching how many megabytes and memory I need takes time and energy.
  • My Independent Reading Project (IRP) was approved, meaning I get to continue researching and studying William Godwin, his novel Caleb Williams, his daughter, Mary Shelley and her novel, Frankenstein, and as many connections as I can find. The paper is due in April.
That's my life in a nutshell (help...I'm in a nutshell...). I should be purchasing a new laptop by the end of the week. Until then...
